When it comes to buying a new pair of sunglasses, there are two basic approaches.
The first is that you should spend as little as possible because you’re probably going to sit on them or leave them in a gas station or lose them over the side of some fast-moving boat (or slow-moving van) about a week after you buy them.
The second approach is to spend some actual cash on a quality pair and just take care of them like an adult. You are an adult, right?
I’m not entirely sure which is the right approach, or that I am an adult, really. I’ve personally killed about five pairs of sunglasses over the last year, including my go-to’s, which, after being superglued in several different places, finally met their end. RIP.
But one pair of sunnies’ death marks the birth of another, because this summer, Lisa and I are subscribing to the quality over quantity approach and finally getting into the Persols we’ve always wanted and never owned, thanks to SmartBuyGlasses.ca.
I know, right, Lisa is always copping my style. She does look cute tho.
Lisa went for the round style of the PO3129S in Havana, and I the slightly more squared PO9649S model also in Havana.
It’s been over a week since we’ve got them and I’m pleased to report they’ve yet to even scratch, so we’re off to a good start (knock on wood). I’ll probably pick up a couple pairs of cheapies at Kensington Market here in Toronto, but I know which are my new go-to’s.
